Baseball Australia Diamond Award Winners

The Board of the Australian Baseball Federation is pleased to release the names of the winners of the Baseball Australia Diamond Awards to be presented at a luncheon at the Radisson Resort Gold Coast from 12:00 noon on Sunday, 2 March 2008.  The winners are:

·         Danny Maruyama (QLD) for President's Award

·         Tony McPhail (QLD) for Volunteer of the Year

·         David Hayes (WA) for Administrator of the Year

·         Macleay Valley Cougars Baseball Club (NSW) for Club of the Year

·         Baseball WA for State / Territory Association of the Year

·         Mark Gooding (VIC) for Official of the Year

·         Damian Shanahan (ACT) for Coach of the Year

·         Simone Wearne (VIC) for Player of the Year Open Womens

For Player of the Year Youth, a unanimous decision was made to award two most deserving athletes and they are:

·         Mitch Denning (NSW) and

·         Steven Kent (ACT)

For Player of the Year Open Mens, the nominees are:

·         Ryan Rowland-Smith

·         Peter Moylan

The winner of this nomination will be announced at the Baseball Australia Diamond Awards luncheon.
